More About Looksee

The Looksee Checklist is an easy-to-use, one-page developmental tool to be completed by a parent or professional. The 13 checklists follow a child from 1 month to 6 years of age. Each perforated page can separate into two parts; a short list of “yes” or “no” questions about the child’s abilities and a handout of tips to promote development.

The Looksee Checklist only takes a few minutes to complete. There is no scoring involved and it can be answered using what parents already know about their child’s abilities. Remembering when it’s time for the next checklist is simple, too, because it conveniently coincides with the child’s early immunization schedule.

Designed by a non-profit organization with the goal of increasing access to developmental tools, the ndds checklist promotes interaction between parents and professionals by creating opportunities for discussion and education that are essential to a child’s development. It is also culturally sensitive, clearly identifying items with cultural considerations.
